Japanese Batter Mix
Panko is the Japanese name for dried white bread crumbs, mostly used for fried dishes such as tonkatsu and deep-fried shrimps. Panko not only makes any fried dishes crispy and crunchy but also keeps ingredients inside juicy. When you need a lighter-coloured coating, try Japanese panko for the same crunchy texture with a delicate, pale golden colour.
Tempurako, a special batter mix for tempura, is made of flour suitable for crispy tempura fries. The rich and smooth batter gives seafood, vegetables and poultry a delicate, crispy coating.
